The
WAS is a group of hobbyists whose interest in keeping
fish has brought us together so that we may learn from
each other as well as the programs that the WAS
provides.We try to use real people as speakers as often as possible, but some of our programs are provided as prepackaged videos or slide shows.
The meeting date in December of each year is reserved for our annual Holiday Party, which is strictly a social event.
We were established in 1949 by a group of hobbyists with the goals:
- To foster and develop interest in the aquarium hobby.
- To promote programs of interest and education about the hobby.
- To provide a place where information and education can be gathered and exchanged.
- To educate people (of all ages) in maintaining and breeding different species of fish.
- To engage in charitable activities that the society deems appropriate.
